Understanding the longitudinal plots
These stick plots allow you to track changes in unit-level, CCG or network performance
over a period of time for the 'Unadjusted Median HbA1c' audit measure. The NPDA recommends
using the median to track year on year progress within the same unit, as the median is less
affected by extreme results.
The units/CCGs/networks you select will show as coloured sticks on the plot. A trend towards
lower HbA1c is indicative of improvement, and you can use the graph to show whether improvements
are in line with national or regional trends, or whether progress towards lower HbA1c has been
faster or slower in your unit of interest.
